Opportunities and increasing social needs provided by the developing technologies with a high acceleration; it caused the necessity of organizations to provide more effective and efficient service. With the ever-increasing and growing requirements, with the start of a fast digital transformation process, the fourth industrial revolution has begun with the emergence of smarter, reliable, fast and innovative approaches. With the introduction of Industry 4.0, modern automation systems, real-time data exchange needs, the Internet of Things and smart robots have started to be used effectively in the organization stages.
Coordinated and effective use of all these concepts together can only be possible by managing them from a single environment. Cyber physical systems (SFS) connect the physical world with a virtual computing world with the help of sensors and networks. The basis of SFSs that connect these environments; It consists of a network of physical objects and sensors communicating with each other and a virtual environment in which real world events are simulated.
Smart created with CPS; factories, cities, hospitals and many more can have complex and large management mechanisms. Many problems occur during the working, design and testing stages of these designed and installed SFSs. In addition, it is not possible to carry out the testing stages of such advanced systems with traditional methods. At this point, Model-based testing (MBT) comes into play. MBT is a software testing technique in which the behavior of the tested system is controlled according to the predictions made by a model. Although the MBT technique is practically understandable, reusable and shareable, it also has a precise definition of the system being tested. These complex and large organizations coming with Industry 4.0 will be able to be designed and implemented faster, more reliably and more effectively, thanks to the model-based design and testing of CPSs.
